    Frequently Asked Questions

What does the model number mean?

    • N – Flygt Adaptive N-hydraulic, high-efficiency design with clog-resistant behaviour
    • P – Permanent guide-rail installation with automatic discharge connection at the base
    • 3127 – Pump model series
    • .161 – Standard version designation
    • LT – Motor / pressure class
    • 425 – Impeller code

What applications is this pump suitable for?

Designed for pumping municipal and industrial wastewater containing solids and fibres, sewage transfer, pumping stations, and general dirty water duties where reliable solids handling is required.

    What does adaptive mean?

Adaptive refers to the hydraulic’s ability to adjust internal clearances when bulky debris passes. In practical terms, the impeller can move slightly under load, temporarily increasing clearance to help rags and fibres pass, before returning to its normal position for efficient operation.

Why would I choose an Adaptive N pump?

The Adaptive N design aims to combine higher hydraulic efficiency than a vortex design with improved clog resistance compared with conventional channel impellers, helping to reduce unplanned maintenance in ragging duties.

    What Adaptive N is not

It is not a grinder and it is not a “zero-clog” guarantee. Suitability must always be confirmed against the pump curve and the characteristics of the pumped media.

Can this replace my existing Flygt pump?

In many cases, yes. If you provide your existing model number or duty point, we can confirm suitability before purchase. Please send photos of your current discharge connection and installation arrangement and we can advise accordingly.

    Do you offer technical support?

Yes — we provide free technical advice prior to purchase. Please call 01803 220416.
