Quick “Which should I pick?” cheat sheet

    • Choose C-type (this pump) when you want good efficiency and reliable solids handling for wastewater and surface water duties, and you are not dealing with extreme ragging conditions.
    • Choose Vortex when the duty is primarily about maximum solids tolerance and passage, and you can accept the normal efficiency trade-off.
    • Choose Flygt N / Adaptive N when modern ragging sewage is the main problem and you want a hydraulic designed to maintain performance over time and reduce call-outs.

    Technical note – voltage:
Voltage is shown as 415V in the listing for simplified search purposes. The motor nameplate configuration for this pump is 400V Star / 230V Delta. Electrical connection must always follow the motor nameplate and be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does the model number mean?

    • 3068 – Pump model series
    • .180 – Standard non-explosion-proof version
    • HT – High head motor / pressure class
    • 253 – Impeller code
    • 1.7kW (3~) – Motor rated power and three-phase supply

What applications is this pump suitable for?

Suitable for pumping clean water, surface water and waste water containing solids or fibred material. Common uses include drainage, storm water, site water, industrial sumps and wastewater wet-well duties.

    What is a C-type impeller?

On the Flygt C-pump range, the hydraulic is a channel-impeller design. For the Flygt 3068 specifically, it is a shrouded single-vane impeller with strong flow-passing properties, intended to reduce the risk of clogging in the impeller channel.

Why would I choose a C-type instead of a vortex impeller?

Vortex pumps are chosen when maximum solids tolerance is the priority. A C-type is chosen when you want more conventional pumping action with strong duty performance and solids handling.

Why would I choose a C-type instead of Flygt N-type?

A C-type hydraulic is typically selected when the duty is predictable and not dominated by modern ragging sewage. It offers conventional centrifugal behaviour with good efficiency at a defined duty point and simple, familiar construction.

Flygt N-type is aimed at sites where wipes and long fibres cause gradual performance loss and blockages. If your station historically runs well on channel impellers, C-type is often the more appropriate and economical choice. If the site suffers repeated ragging and call-outs, N-type may be the better long-term solution.

What’s the difference between vortex, C-type and “non-clog”?

    • Vortex – prioritises solids passage; efficiency trade-offs are common.
    • C-type – conventional hydraulic with good efficiency and solids handling.
    • “Non-clog” – broad term, often used for channel/single-vane solids-handling designs.

Can this replace my existing Flygt pump?

In many cases, yes. Send your model number and photos of your installation and we can advise.

    Do you offer technical support?
