Grundfos SEG grinder pumps are submersible sewage pumps with an integrated grinder system. They are designed to grind destructible solids into small pieces so wastewater containing solids and fibres can be transported through smaller diameter pressure mains.
This pump is supplied with a standard DIN DN40 flange. Because it follows the DIN standard, compatible fittings, guide claws or accessories from Grundfos or other manufacturers can be connected to the outlet.
SEG pumps are ideal in situations where a gravity sewer is not available or practical, such as:
The SEG range is designed for two submerged installation types:
Yes. Thermal switches are built into the motor windings to provide protection against overheating. These must be connected to a suitable control panel in accordance with Grundfos instructions.
The pump is manufactured from wear-resistant materials including cast iron and stainless steel. A corrosion-resistant stainless steel clamp secures the motor to the pump housing and allows easy servicing of the unit.
SmartTrim allows simple adjustment of the impeller clearance without dismantling the pump, helping to maintain maximum efficiency throughout the pump’s lifespan.
A grinder pump enables wastewater to be pumped through small pressure mains where gravity drainage is not practical, making it suitable for rural properties and sites with long or rising discharge pipework.
