These figures provide simplified information for searching, filtering and initial comparison. They are not a complete specification. Exact details depend on the model and configuration.
Power rating: Usually the motor’s rated mechanical output (P2). Electrical input power (P1) is a different value. Check the product’s nameplate or manufacturer’s documentation to confirm which rating applies.
Outlet size: The nominal size class is expressed on a millimetre basis: for example, DN40 denotes a nominal 40 mm size. It does not specify the exact measured opening, connection type, thread, flange drilling or pressure rating.
Head and flow: Indicative figures describing the pump’s performance envelope, rather than a single operating duty point. Do not assume maximum flow is available at maximum head, or that every combination within the ranges is achievable. Minimum figures do not establish safe continuous operating limits. Consult the relevant performance curve.
Check the product description, nameplate and manufacturer’s documentation before selection or installation. Please contact us before purchasing if you need help confirming suitability or connection details.

This listing is for a Grundfos TP 50-190/2 A-F-A-BQQE single-stage in-line centrifugal circulator pump, product number 96086996. It is a fixed-speed, dry-rotor commercial heating and cooling pump with DN50 PN16 DIN flanged connections, a 340 mm port-to-port length and a 1.5 kW three-phase 400V / 415V motor.
The Grundfos TP range is designed for commercial heating, cooling, HVAC and compatible industrial circulation duties. Its in-line construction allows installation directly into matching pipework, while the top-pull-out design enables removal of the motor, pump head and impeller for maintenance without removing the pump housing from the pipework.
Condition: supplied as a USED pump. The unit has previously been installed and may show cosmetic wear consistent with service use.
Important condition note: There is a crack to the motor cooling-fan cowl (fan cover). Please refer to the product photographs. The fan guard should be inspected and repaired or replaced where necessary before operation to ensure the cooling fan remains safely guarded and airflow is unobstructed.
Guarantee: supplied with a 6-month guarantee.
Electrical note: Published motor details vary slightly between production versions. The fitted motor nameplate should be used to confirm the exact rated current and overload setting.

The Grundfos TP 50-190/2 is a commercial dry-rotor in-line centrifugal pump designed for circulating water in heating, cooling, HVAC and compatible industrial systems.
It is particularly suitable for applications requiring a relatively high flow rate against a moderate pressure loss, with a rated duty point of 22.2 m³/h at 15.5 metres head.
The BQQE seal is a rubber bellows mechanical shaft seal with silicon carbide / silicon carbide seal faces and EPDM secondary elastomers.
The silicon carbide seal faces provide excellent hardness and good wear resistance, while the EPDM elastomers are particularly suitable for many clean-water and hot-water duties.
The rubber bellows construction allows axial movement of the seal without relying on an O-ring sliding along the pump shaft. This helps prevent deposits on the shaft from restricting seal movement.
Grundfos lists a liquid temperature range of -25°C to +120°C for this BQQE configuration, with a maximum operating pressure of 16 bar.
The maximum operating pressure applies to the complete pump system and should not be confused with the differential pressure generated by the pump.
Operation at high temperatures requires sufficient inlet pressure to prevent cavitation and ensure adequate lubrication of the shaft seal.
This pump is suitable for thin, clean, non-aggressive and non-flammable liquids compatible with its cast-iron construction and BQQE mechanical shaft seal.
Typical suitable duties include:
The pump is not intended for sewage, wastewater, sludge, abrasive solids, fibres or liquids that chemically attack its components.
Yes, subject to the mixture and operating conditions. Grundfos recommends BQQE or DQQE shaft seals for certain TP pump duties involving glycol or antifreeze mixtures. This pump is fitted with BQQE.
Glycol type, concentration, viscosity and inhibitor package affect pump performance and seal life. Higher viscosity can increase motor load and may require the pump duty to be reassessed.
The exact liquid mixture should therefore be checked against Grundfos liquid compatibility guidance before installation.
Not with the standard BQQE seal arrangement.
The fitted seal uses EPDM elastomers, which are generally suitable for many water-based duties but are not compatible with mineral oils and petroleum-based fuels.
Oil or fuel applications normally require a different seal and material selection. This pump should not be used for flammable or explosive liquids without specific approval for the complete application.
This is a cast-iron commercial circulator primarily intended for heating, cooling and industrial circulation duties.
Although the wider Grundfos TP range includes pumps used in water supply applications, this standard cast-iron version should not automatically be regarded as suitable for potable domestic hot-water systems.
For drinking-water or domestic hot-water circulation, the pump materials, water quality and relevant approvals must be checked.
The Grundfos TP uses a top-pull-out construction, allowing the motor, pump head and impeller assembly to be removed for inspection or maintenance while the main pump housing remains installed in the pipework.
This can simplify servicing and reduce the need to disturb existing flanges and pipework.
No. This is a fixed-speed TP pump with a standard three-phase asynchronous motor.
Grundfos documentation identifies the possibility of using a suitable external variable-frequency drive, such as a Grundfos CUE, where speed control is required.
Any inverter installation must be correctly matched to the fitted motor and commissioned with suitable electrical protection.
The pump has a three-phase, 50Hz motor rated for:
For a normal UK 400V / 415V three-phase supply, the motor is connected in the appropriate star configuration according to its nameplate and wiring diagram.
The motor requires suitable external overload protection because it does not incorporate built-in motor protection.
The required minimum inlet pressure depends on liquid temperature, operating flow and the available suction conditions.
Grundfos provides an NPSH curve in the product-specific technical documentation. This should be used when assessing installations with elevated water temperatures, restricted suction pipework or limited available inlet pressure.
Insufficient inlet pressure can cause cavitation, noise, reduced performance and premature damage to the impeller and shaft seal.
The pump must always be correctly filled and vented before operation.
This pump has DN50 PN16 DIN flanged connections, a 340 mm port-to-port length and a 1.5 kW three-phase motor.
It may replace an existing matching Grundfos TP pump or a comparable in-line circulator from manufacturers such as Wilo, Lowara or KSB, provided the hydraulic duty, flange standard, installation dimensions and electrical requirements are suitable.
The pump should be selected against the required flow and head rather than connection size alone.
There is a crack in the motor cooling-fan cowl. This is an existing defect and is disclosed as part of the used condition of the pump.
The fan cowl is the protective cover around the motor's external cooling fan. It helps prevent contact with the rotating fan while allowing cooling air to circulate around the motor.
A cracked fan cowl should be inspected before operation. If the cover is insecure, damaged sufficiently to expose the fan or obstructs cooling airflow, it should be repaired or replaced before commissioning.
Please refer to the product photographs for the condition of the supplied unit.
