This listing is for a Grundfos TPE2 50-240 pump from the TP family of dry-rotor, single-stage in-line circulator pumps. It is a single-head, electronically speed-controlled unit with in-line suction and discharge ports of identical diameter, designed for heating, cooling and industrial circulation duties where efficient variable-speed operation and serviceability are important.
Condition: supplied in as new surplus condition – the unit has not been installed or used but may show minor cosmetic markings from storage and handling. Guarantee: supplied with a 2-year guarantee.
Important commissioning note:
This TPE2 pump should be programmed and commissioned using Grundfos GO Remote. The correct control mode, setpoint, external sensor setup and operating limits must be configured on site to suit the application.

TPE is Grundfos’ electronically speed-controlled version of the TP dry-rotor in-line circulator range. TPE2 is a newer-generation electronically controlled in-line pump without built-in differential-pressure and temperature sensors. TPE3 is the more advanced version with built-in sensor functions and additional intelligent features such as AUTOADAPT, FLOWADAPT, FLOWLIMIT, heat-energy monitoring and flow estimation on suitable models.
For this pump, the key point is that it is a variable-speed TPE2, but it does not have the built-in sensor package of a TPE3. Any pressure, temperature, flow or level-based control will normally require a suitable external sensor, controller or BMS signal.
This pump has an integrated frequency converter and can be commissioned for different control modes depending on the system design and connected sensors.
Available control modes can include:
Note: AUTOADAPT and FLOWADAPT are associated with TPE3 versions with built-in sensor functions and should not be assumed available on this TPE2 N model.
BQQE describes the mechanical seal construction and materials:
BQQE is commonly used for heating and cooling water duties compatible with EPDM. The silicon carbide / silicon carbide seal faces offer good wear resistance and are useful for hot water applications.
This pump is typically suitable for clean circulation liquids compatible with cast iron and EPDM, including heating water, chilled water, district heating/cooling water, condensate, softened water and clean industrial circulation liquids.
Water/glycol mixtures may be used, but allowable temperature and concentration depend on the full system design, seal selection and operating conditions. Refer to the Grundfos liquid compatibility guidance before use with glycol or brines.
Not suitable for:
This model uses DN50 PN6/10 DIN flanges with a 280 mm port-to-port length. Where dimensions and duty are comparable, it can replace other DN50 in-line circulators from brands such as Wilo, Lowara and KSB, subject to hydraulic duty, flange standard and control compatibility.
The advantage of a variable-speed circulator is that it can often be tuned during commissioning to better match the duty of the pump being replaced, rather than being locked to one fixed-speed curve.
Yes – the pump uses a top-pull-out design, so the power head can be removed while the pump housing remains installed in the pipework.
