    GRUNDFOS TPE2D 80-40 N-A-F-A-BQQE-CDA – 415V Twin-Head In-Line Circulator Pump (98437671) #4114

This listing is for a Grundfos TPE2D pump from the TP family of dry-rotor, single-stage in-line circulator pumps. It is a twin-head, electronically speed-controlled unit with identical in-line suction and discharge ports, designed for heating, cooling and industrial circulation duties where energy-optimised variable speed operation and serviceability are important. Condition: supplied in as new surplus condition – the unit has not been installed or used but may show minor cosmetic markings from storage and handling. Guarantee: supplied with a 2-year guarantee.

    • Pump type: TP family – dry-rotor, single-stage in-line circulator
    • Configuration: Twin-head (two parallel power heads)
    • Connection: PN10 DIN flangesDN80 (port-to-port 360 mm)
    • Motor: Electronically commutated motor (ECM) with integrated frequency converter
    • Service design: Top-pull-out – power head removable without disturbing pipework
    • Shaft seal: BQQE mechanical seal

    Important commissioning note:
This TPE pump is typically commissioned using Grundfos GO Remote (via MI interface). Correct control mode and setpoints should be configured on site to suit the application.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does the model number mean?

    • TPE2 – electronically speed-controlled in-line circulator (TPE2 series)
    • D – twin-head pump
    • 80 – nominal diameter of inlet and outlet ports (DN80)
    • 40 – maximum head (40 dm)
    • Nwithout built-in sensor
    • A – basic version
    • F – DIN flange connections (PN10 on this model)
    • A – basic materials version
    • BQQE – shaft seal code
    • CDA – motor / supply / speed variant code:
      • C – 0.25 kW motor power
      • D – ECM motor, 3 × 380–500 V
      • A – speed variant 1450–2200 RPM (ECM)

What does the BQQE shaft seal code mean?

BQQE describes the mechanical seal materials used in this pump:

    • B – rubber bellows seal construction
    • Q – silicon carbide rotating face
    • Q – silicon carbide stationary face
    • E – EPDM elastomers

This seal arrangement is commonly used for heating and cooling water applications compatible with EPDM materials.

Seal operating temperature (BQQE): suitable from -25 °C up to 120 °C in water duties (EPDM-limited).

    Why choose BQQE?
BQQE uses a silicon-carbide against silicon-carbide face pairing. This provides extremely high wear and abrasion resistance and excellent stability in hot-water circulation systems. It is the preferred choice for modern HVAC installations and duties with magnetite or fine particles, where long service life is more important than dry-running tolerance.

What liquids can this pump be used with?

This pump is typically suitable for clean circulation liquids compatible with cast iron/stainless components (as supplied) and EPDM, such as:

    • Heating system water meeting accepted water quality standards
    • Cooling and chilled water circuits
    • District heating and district cooling water
    • Condensate
    • Softened water
    • Clean industrial circulation liquids (non-abrasive) compatible with EPDM

Water/glycol mixtures are permitted (ethylene or propylene glycol), but allowable temperature and concentration depend on operating conditions and seal considerations. Refer to the Grundfos documentation for the correct glycol limits.

    Not suitable for:

    • Liquids containing solid particles or fibres
    • Flammable liquids
    • Mineral oils or synthetic oils (unless specifically specified with an appropriate seal/elastomer set)
    • Strong chemicals or solvents that attack EPDM
    • Sea water or aggressive saline solutions

Does this pump need to be commissioned?

Yes. This is an electronically controlled TPE pump and is typically commissioned using Grundfos GO Remote. The correct control mode, setpoints and operating limits should be configured during installation.

Is this suitable to replace other DN80 circulators?

This model uses DN80 PN10 DIN flanges with a port-to-port length of 360 mm (model-specific). Where the dimensions match, it can replace other DN80 in-line circulators (for example from Wilo, Lowara and KSB), subject to flange standard, duty point and control compatibility. One advantage of a variable-speed circulator is that it can often be tuned down or tuned up during commissioning to better match the duty of the pump being replaced.

Can the motor be removed without draining the system?

Yes – the pump uses a top-pull-out design, so the power head can be removed while the pump housing remains installed in the pipework.
